At the start of 2015 I decided that my word for the year would be ‘support’ and I have been pondering and planning how I can best do that for my community. Path 42 evolved from two businesses – Bay Web Designs & Create Bubbles – which I combined when I realised that my customers wanted more than just another web designer. It is now travelling further down that path.
You may wonder at the phrase ‘holistic consultant for the reluctant entrepreneur’, what entrepreneur is reluctant to follow their path? Well, me for one. When I first started I knew I wanted to create websites but the idea of running a business scared me, and the thought of networking made me feel sick. I’m an introvert with a history of depression and anxiety so putting myself out there and selling (ugh) was not something I looked forward to. There was also the matter of accounts (numbers fascinate me but my brain doesn’t like them). Oh boy, there were parts of running a business I would gladly run away from.
But I did it. And now I want to help others who have fears, doubts, and anxiety about following their entrepreneur path. I have learned a lot over the last few years and I want to (continue to) share that with others. I also want to show you there are ways to follow that path without selling out to the suits.
Web design – yes, of course my first love will continue. However, I would like my future clients to not only want a website from me, but also require an holistic service which encompasses their website and how it fits in with their path.
Mentoring – this is something I have done for years as a volunteer and as part of the social enterprise part of my business. Now I want to take that a step further as I have more than enough experience and knowledge to share that deserves financial reward. Never fear, I will still continue to offer some mentoring freely because there are people who need it.
Online courses – I’ve been dipping my toe in creating courses for a while but I am going to take this to a whole new level. Watch out for all sorts of fun stuff.
Community – of course I’m going to continue with all the community work I do. I love it and it’s another way for me to give back to people I know and have yet to meet.
