Accountant – look for a good one as soon as possible. I thought I could do without for the first couple of years but I hated doing my tax return and I was terrified of doing something wrong. Hiring an accountant was one of the best decisions I made as she not only took the pressure of my tax return away but also gives me great advice on all things tax-related plus lots more.
If you do want to look after your own accounts at first then please get in touch with your local tax office. Not only to tell them you’re self-employed but also to see if they run any advice workshops for newbies. I went to a couple and they were quite informative.
